The use of polymer materials to advance biomedical science and technology is on the rise, particularly for the development of advanced medical devices, personalized medical care, and implants. In recent years, smart polymer materials designed through experimentation with novel concepts have opened innovative routes for therapeutic drug delivery, tissue regeneration and repair, and diagnostic and analysis devices. However, successful transition from innovation to daily usage is slow because engineering such polymer materials equipped with desirable smart functions is very challenging. In the proposed project, the research team will generate advanced polymer materials and make them versatile platforms for drug delivery and cell analysis by developing innovative fabrication methods.
