National Bank of Canada is one the largest Canadian Banks. The reliability of its software systems has a directx000D
impact on the quality of banking services received by Canadians both locally and internationally, hencex000D
National Bank would like to ensure the quality of their software systems. Prior work has shown that data,x000D
stored in common tools, such as bug trackers and source code control tools can be leveraged to help ensure thex000D
high quality of software systems. Therefore, the goal of this proposal is to develop analytics and models, basedx000D
on National Bank's data, to help them identify phenomena that negatively impacts the quality of their softwarex000D
systems and empirically validate the developed analytics and models. To achieve this objective, we plan tox000D
address three main sub-objectives 1) we plan to develop a framework to ingest, preprocess and link datax000D
collected by National Bank's software development tools; 2) we plan to perform data analysis and createx000D
analytics from software repository data; 3) we plan to empirically validate the effectiveness of the developedx000D
analytics and models in detecting software quality issues. If successful, the outcome of the proposed researchx000D
will help put National Bank above its competitors, who in some cases are big players such as Bank of America,x000D
JPMorgan Chase and HSBC. This will, in turn, strengthen the Canadian position in the aforementioned areasx000D
that the bank operates in, which are some of the most impacting areas of the Canadian economy.
