The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is requesting support from the NSERC Applied Research Tools and Instruments Program for the purchase and installation of an assortment of rainwater harvesting, testing and monitoring equipment. This equipment will enable the Green Building Technologies (GBT) research team to aid industry partners (designers, builders, developers, public sectors and industry associations) in the design, fabrication, system improvement, construction coordination and performance monitoring of rainwater management, collection and re-use technologies for residential and commercial developments. Enhanced technical capabilities will significantly improve SAIT's research capacity in the area of rainwater collection, harvesting and testing while addressing the growing needs of this ever expanding practice by industry, public sectors and regulators. SAIT will utilize the equipment to help improve the knowledge base of builders and developers in Alberta, especially small and medium enterprises, in rainwater solutions, and promote the environmental awareness among the companies, industry associations, governmental organizations and the public.x000D
