Udder Comfort is a company that develops creams and sprays to better manage farm animals. The main ingredient in their products is essential oils, namely terpinen-4-ol. Udder Comfort is looking to diversify and innovate its product offerings, with the goal of optimizing animal well being. They are looking to supplement their products with additional modulators, such as Ribo-Nucleic Acids, namely microRNA (miRNA). miRNAs are small, non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. miRNAs are involved in multiple biological processes and are important in immune response regulation. It is possible that miRNAs are present in Udder Comfort's products, therefore Udder Comfort products and ingredients will be surveyed for the presence of miRNAs. In addition, beneficial miRNAs found in bovine milk will be added to Udder Comfort's products and tested for efficacy. Supplementing their products with additional ingredients could allow for better management, higher quality dairy products, and higher profits for farmers. Skin lotions globally already use extracts from the mint plant, citrus, and tea tree but Ontario's meadowgrass wildflower, Heal-All or also called Selfheal - Prunella vulgaris - has not been studied for effector molecules such as micro ribonucleic acid sequences (miRNA).
