My research program is focused on production and operations management. At the heart of this application and proposal, I am aiming at both higher- and lower-level production planning functions to support aggregate- and operational planning activities respectively as well as other support functions for facilities and process planning, supply chain management and transportation, and finally the cross-border traffic problem. In particular, I am tackling problems of production lot-sizing, production- and services-scheduling , layout, assembly line balancing, and facilities location and allocation. My research team and I are testing novel hypotheses, borrowing methods from other fields of research and applying them in mine, and proving conjectures. We are developing new mathematical models and solution methods for both the manufacturing- and healthcare-sectors taking into consideration economic and quality aspects. These research initiatives will have impact on both the local- and national-economies . My research lab is collaborating with the auto-, farming-, and medical-sectors .
