A major challenge in the production of display cases for chilled food products is avoiding the build-up of condensation on thex000D
display case glass. Current methodologies for limiting condensation are energy intensive, typically requiring the installation ofx000D
heaters near the glass, fans, or evaporator units. In addition, the build-up of condensation can create an environment that leads tox000D
food spoilage, and counter to the purpose of the display case, can impede the customers' view of the chilled food products onx000D
display. In an effort to inhibit the formation of condensation on display cases for chilled food products that is less energy intensivex000D
than the existing technology, we are proposing to develop a silicone coating that would prevent the glass from fogging up andx000D
would permit the easy removal of any condensed water from the surface of the glass.
