STS Tracer Services Ltd is seeking a solution that provides on-site and immediate analysis of the flowbackx000D
fluid for fracking and water flooding during oil and gas extraction processes. Currently, industry methods forx000D
analysing tracers in-lab testing requires about 3-10 business day time-lag between the collection of sample,x000D
analysis and receiving lab results. During this time, fracking and water flooding cannot be stopped which leadsx000D
to sub-optimal implementation of these costly operations.x000D
Development of a tracer and analysis method for on-site and immediate analysis of the flowback fluid has thex000D
potential to significantly reduce cost and improve efficiency of fracking and water flooding operations, leadingx000D
to higher oil and gas recoveries than the current practice.x000D
This grant will support the development of tracing agents and simple analytical method that would allow thex000D
identified tracing agent to be consistently detected on-site within 50 ppb to 500 ppb when 1 part tracing agentx000D
is mixed with 1 million parts of water.
