Programme national d'atténuation des catastrophes (PNAC)

Le PNAC permet d’aborder les risques d'inondations et les coûts qui en découlent, tous deux en hausse, en plus de créer les bases menant à des investissements éclairés en matière d'atténuation qui pourraient réduire ou neutraliser les effets des inondations. Le PNAC comble une lacune quant à la capacité du Canada à assurer une atténuation, une préparation, une intervention et un rétablissement efficaces vis-à-vis les inondations, et ce, en constituant un ensemble de connaissances sur les risques d'inondations au Canada, ainsi qu'en investissant dans les activités fondamentales d'atténuation des inondations.
